Tasty Artwork from Caged Tomato

I don’t do this sort of post very often, but this is a super-special circumstance. Before I was a Baker and Destroyer, I was a pregnant lady working at a coffee shop. I didn’t want to work there, but I didn’t know what else to do. Along came Lila, at the time just barely a year old, and her awseome mama and daddy, Carrie and Kent. Seems they needed a nanny and heard through a friend of a friend that I was nice to babies.

I was completely nervous to go on the interview- who would hire a nanny with tattoos on her knuckles? Why, a daddy with armloads of tattoos and a mama in a Zeke shirt, of course! And so began a wonderful two years of nannying Lila- and soon enough, being able to stay home with Teno and still pay my rent.

If it hadn’t been for Lila’s family I never would have been able to stay home and bake so much that it turned into this blog and well, I think I’ve told the story about what this blog means to me one too many times.

That said, I wanted to do this post about Carrie’s artwork on Etsy. One, because it’s ADORABLE. I just purchased the print you see above and I can’t wait. And two, because this family is the reason you’re reading this blog at all, so if I entertain you for one second every week, you should probably go spend a few bucks on Carrie’s collages as a way of thanking her for enabling me to do that. Also right now she has a print of a hamburger with arms and legs and it’s basically the best thing I’ve ever seen.

You heard it here first, Caged Tomato collages are the next big thing in the art world. And I went to art school so, you know.
