Tony’s company spent the past two weeks straight moving into a bigger warehouse, Teno decided to stop sleeping and now we’re moving. My baking stuff has been packed for so long I don’t even know where it is anymore.
My new kitchen is really cute, though and in a few days when I have everything where I want it and I’ve taken proper advantage of the extra deep tub with mega jet power I’ll be back to kick it old school. I have a new holiday gift guide ready to go as well as maybe the world’s first totally honest guide to Chicago’s bakeries and sweet shacks. I’ll give you a preview: Dinkel’s bakery fucking sucks.
So thanks for checking in, I’m not dead – just mostly dead.

So, yeah, Dinkel’s sucks. As does Lutz, although saying that on the northwest side might get you shot.

For real, with a name like Dinkel’s…i would never go there anyway. Dinkel is what i call my teenagers when they act like idiots.

Ok, Dinkel’s cakes are no great shakes, but I’ve always liked their bread, cookies and pastries. Why do you think they suck?

oh, dear godzilla, there isn’t much i wouldn’t do for a slice of letizia’s caramel cheesecake. and a peanutbutter cookie with that ganache filling.
now that’s living.
